Katie and Sifa's Wedding Portraits
These are long overdue for a blog debut! Katie and Sifa were married in April in an intimate private ceremony at her parents' house. In May, they came to Houston to model in front of my lens for formal wedding portraits that we took on the beautiful grounds of Mirror Lake Landscapes Pools, & Waterfalls. And then in June, we celebrated in a big way! Perhaps there's no such thing as too much fun at a wedding celebration, but we definitely came close.
Here are some of my favorites from our shoot. Katie and Sifa, I'm honored you asked me to photograph your portraits and had so much fun - thanks for going with the flow! And Shannon, you shouldn't have done such a great job assisting. I don't know that I can do this without you now. You're amazing.
The sequence below was made entirely possible by the super fabulous Shannon. She assisted me by carrying around my step stool and reflector. I guess she wasn't getting enough reflection action, so she decided to use it as a fan (see Sifa's tie and Katie's hair) while telling crazy stories. I believe this particular story was about a dream she had? Something about a tiger.
I am crazy in love with this photo!
I'm also a pretty big fan of this one. Katie, you are so beautiful!
More of my fabulous assistant.
And finally, a preview of my wedding gift. These frames are each 19" square with a 12" matted photo.
And here are some of my favorites from the party. I really love my friends. And Katie's parents' dogs. I especially love them.

Kelly, this is so bizarre. I thought the second to last photo in the last collage looked like my brother-in-law's doppelganger, so I called my husband to point it out to him. When I showed him the page, he told me he thought he knew the girl with the dog licking her face. He could only remember her first name. Through some investigative work, we confirmed that's the same girl he knows (from Bands of America) and he marched with her husband in the Cavaliers. Crazy, right?
this whole post is beautiful! and not just because you give me such props (thanks, though, & I'd be happy to assist again any time!) really love the final black and white...I dunno how you get that effect in the final finish, but it's just artistic.
