I left out the best part...

...of the last post, that is.: the custom handmade invitations I created for the party. I love the dimension that all the layers create. I secured a green ribbon (Kim's signature wedding color) along the center on top of an eccentric floral print, and mounted the text of the invitation on top of that for additional texture. I truly enjoy creating and designing invitations and announcements- if you know someone who is looking for something custom and different, send them my way!

Not that kind of bachelorette party

Kim's bachelorette party was held last weekend at the chic ZaSpa at Hotel ZaZa. No strippers, no overconsumption of alcohol, and no embarrassing gifts. Just an afternoon of pampering, relaxing, and a little inappropriate game of bachelorette pictionary- the answers shouted out were much more imaginative than the actual answers! Since the massages and spa steam destroyed our pristine hair and makeup, I'll be nice and won't post all of the pictures.

Party favors - homemade bath salts

My Little Princess

Since I don't have children just yet, and all of the photos that come with that parent pride, I have my dog Barley to boast about. Isn't she pretty? We had a little mini photo session outside this morning, up until she started eating the plants. Love her.

Only in the South

I recently traveled to Louisiana for a family reunion and was reminded of all the reasons I love living in and being from the south: the food, the sceney, the friendly neighbors, and the happenings that just don't happen anywhere else. For example, where else will you find a homeowner relaxing on his property with his dog, bottle of Budweiser, and pack of Marlboros, all while burning the massive oak tree that fell during a hurricane? And just yards away from the road? Southern Louisiana.

The best part is not the situation, but the occasion. The tree is burned for bonfire parties in their front yard. It's quite a sight and on a chili January evening, it was welcome warmth!

About Kelly Tarleton

I've always been a creative person, and the one who always had a camera on-hand at a moment's notice for any occasion. Photography and graphic design dominated my life in school and I loved every minute of it. I miss that constant creative outlet and want to share more of it with my family and friends through this blog.See more of my work at my website:
